Privacy Policy

Draft text, waiting for legal review.

What we collect

Your email address, your name, how you signed in (password or Google), and the money information you and your groups enter: amounts, categories, notes, budgets and who paid.

Why we use it

Only to run Finbook for you: to sign you in, to show your groups and to work out who owes whom. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

In the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany), with our database provider Supabase. If you choose Google sign-in, Google tells us your email address and name.

How we protect it

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest in our EU database. Access is limited and protected by strong sign-in. Finbook does not currently use end-to-end encryption, which means our systems can read the information you enter in order to run the service.

Who sees it

You, and the members of the groups you belong to (for what is entered in those groups). Our service providers process data only on our behalf and only to run the service.

Your rights

You can download your data and delete your account in Settings. You can also ask us to correct your data or object to how it is used.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your account and personal data. Group entries you made may remain in that group under the name "Former member" so the group's totals stay correct.
